2. Secondary Ejector Weldment Assembly
A. Secondary Ejector Weldment Assembly
(Stainless Steel) Inspection
NOTE: If you think a part is unserviceable,
speak to MDHI Field Service Department
for more instructions.
(1). Visually inspect secondary ejector
weldment for cracks.
(a). Cracks that are less than 3.0 inches
(76.2 mm) in length may be re
paired (Ref. Section 78-00-00).
Replace secondary ejector weldment
if cracks exceed this length.
(b). Intersecting cracks that meet in an
acute angle (less than 90 degrees) are
not repairable. Replace secondary
ejector weldment.
(c). Cracks within one inch (25.4mm) of
mating flange or doubler straps are
not repairable. Replace secondary
ejector weldment.
(2). Visually inspect secondary ejector
weldment for dents and deformities.
Repair as required (Ref. Section
78-00-00).
(3). Inspect secondary ejector weldment
assembly for security of installation.
Torque or replace loose or missing
hardware.
(4). Visually inspect bearing assembly
support bearing for radial and axial
play. None allowed.
(5). Visually inspect secondary ejector
insulation.
(a). Inspect secondary ejector insulation
blankets for cuts or tears. None
allowed.
(b). Inspect secondary ejector insulation
blankets for security of installation.
Tighten or replace loose or broken
lockwire securing insulation blan
kets.
B. Secondary Ejector Weldment Assembly
(Titanium) Inspection
NOTE: If you think a part is unserviceable,
speak to MDHI Field Service Department
for more instructions.
(1). Visually inspect secondary ejector
weldment assembly.
(a). Inspect secondary ejector weldment
assembly for cracks, dents, corrosion
or separation at weld seams. None
allowed.
(b). Inspect secondary ejector weldment
assembly for security of installation.
Torque or replace loose or missing
hardware.
(2). Visually inspect bearing assembly
support bearing for radial and axial
play. None allowed.
(3). Visually inspect secondary ejector
insulation.
(a). Inspect secondary ejector insulation
blankets for cuts or tears. None
allowed.
(b). Inspect secondary ejector insulation
blankets for security of installation.
Tighten or replace loose or broken
lockwire securing insulation blan
kets.
C. Secondary Ejector Weldment Assembly
Repair Inspection
(1). Fluorescent penetrant inspect repairs
for cracks.
(2). Weld and inspect cracks as required.
