4.11 FUSING
4.11.1 FUSING UNIT
Turn off the main switch and wait until the fusing unit cools down before beginning any of
the procedures in this section. The fusing unit can cause serious burns.
Basically, the entire fusing unit must be replaced when SC554-00 occurs.
In some cases, the fusing unit need not be replaced if SC554-00 occurs. See “When
SC554-00 Occurs” for these cases.
1. Release the left and right lock levers, then remove the fusing unit.
SP Setting after Fusing Unit Replacement
1. Plug in and turn the main power on.
2. Enter the SP mode.
3. Set SP3-701-014 to “1”.
4. Exit the SP mode.
5. Turn the main power off and on.
