• Wavelength — adjust the width of the of
ripples used, or the number of the ripples.
• Rate — adjust the speed that the ripples
move along the horizontal sides of the pattern
(Animation must be On). A positive value
moves the ripples top to bottom and a
negative values move the ripples bottom to
top. A value of 0 causes the ripples not to
move.
To Edit Wash and Matte Generator
Assignments
Edit and assign the matte and wash generators on the
switcher.
1. Press HOME > More > Effects > BKGD Gen
Setup.
2. Use the ME knob to select the ME that you want to
edit the generator for.
3. Use the Generator knob to select the generator you
want to edit.
4. Use the Generator Type knob to select how you
want the selected generator congured (Wash or
Matte).
5. Press the Color 1 or Color 2 button to edit the
matte color, and the Wash 1 or Wash 2 button to
edit the wash.
Tip: Press Default Colors to default the colors of the
selected generator.
Washes
The wash generator allows you to ll a wipe border, color
background, matte ll, or preset pattern with a pattern
wash (color gradient), another video source, noise, or
superblack.
• Pattern Wash — apply a pattern as the basis for the
color gradient wash.
• Video Wash — apply a video source as the basis of
the wash.
• Noise — apply video noise as the basis of the wash.
• SuperBlack — set the wash color to output
superblack.
To Set Up a Pattern Wash
1. Press Wash 1 or Wash 2 to select the wash
generator that you want to use.
Note: If the switcher is operating in a UHDTV1 video
format, only one wash generator is available.
2. Press Modify Wash > BKGD Type.
3. Use the Type knob to select Pattern.
4. Press Pattern Selection and adjust the pattern as
required. Refer to Patterns on page 102 for pattern
setup information.
5. Press Back to return to the Modify Wash menu.
6. Press Modify Color 1.
7. Use the color picker to select the color you want to
use. Refer to Color Picker on page 28 for
information on using the color picker.
Note: If the Matte Limit personality option is active, the
RGB color space is not available. You will only be able to
make color selection in the HSL color space.
Tip: Press Default Colors to go back to the original, default
colors. The color selections for the ME and Wash will be
set back to default.
8. Press Color1 or Color2to switch between the
colors.
To Set Up a Video Wash
1. Press Wash 1 or Wash 2 to select the wash
generator that you want to use.
Note: If the switcher is operating in a UHDTV1 video
format, only one wash generator is available.
2. Press Modify Wash > BKGD Type.
3. Use the Type knob to select Video.
4. Use the Video Bus knob to select the bus source
for the video wash.
• Key X — use the video source currently selected
for the keyer.
• Program — use the video source currently
selected on the Program Bus of the ME as the
video wash.
• Preset — use the video source currently
selected on the Preset Bus of the ME as the video
wash.
• Utility X — use the video source currently
selected on the Utility Bus as the video wash.
5. Use the Fill Type knob to select how the video wash
is displayed.
• ColorWash — apply a gradient color wash to
the selected video signal. Refer to To Set Up a
Pattern Wash on page 103 for information on
adjusting the wash colors.
• Video — apply an unaltered video signal with
no color effects applied.
