Use one of the following methods to select a color and
press OK:
• Color Wheel — click on a position on the outer
wheel to select a hue, and click on a position in the
triage to select the saturation and luminance.
• HSL — use the Hue, Sat, and Lum knobs, or elds,
to select the color you want to use.
• RGB — use the Red, Green, and Blue elds to
enter the color you want to use.
• Color Name — enter the hexadecimal value for the
HTML color name you want to use. For example,
#FF0000 is the value for red.
• Eyedropper — click on the eyedropper icon and then
click on a color on the menu that you want to use.
• Palette — click on the default color that you want to
use.
Help Features
Online Manuals
A complete copy of these manuals are available on the
switcher and can be stored to a USB drive.
To view the manuals, press Manuals ( ). The manual
is displayed in the top menu region. Press the button
again to close the manuals.
Tip: Press HOME > More > Help > Copy Manuals To USB to
copy the manual to the USB drive plugged into the control panel.
Screen Captures
You can save a screen capture of the current state of the
menu to a USB drive inserted into the control panel.
Note: Screen captures are not supported on the Carbonite Black
control panels.
To Take a Screen Capture
1. Insert the USB drive into the USB port on the control
panel.
2. Navigate to the menu you want to capture.
3. On the Global Memory module, press STORE ALL
+ FADE RATE.
The control panel beeps and a popup is displayed.
The le is stored as a bitmap on the USB drive.
SoftPanel
SoftPanel allows you to run the menu system of the
switcher from a computer. The switcher treats the
SoftPanel interface as a satellite panel, allowing it to
control all aspects of the switcher that the menu system
of a satellite panel can control.
The SoftPanel application uses the Oracle
®
VM
VirtualBox to interface with the computer hardware and
operating system, and connect to the switcher frame.
Tip: You can also point your Google Chrome
™
browser to the
SoftPanel to access the Acuity Virtual Panel.
Keep the following in mind:
Keep the following in mind when using SoftPanel:
• SoftPanel and the switcher must be on the same
version of software.
• Upgrading the switcher will not upgrade SoftPanel.
You must download a newer version of the SoftPanel
that is compatible with the new switcher software.
• SoftPanel is an application running on a Fedora
®
system on the Oracle
®
VM VirtualBox Virtual
Machine. Refer to the documentation that came with
VirtualBox for information on conguring the virtual
machine.
• Ross Video recommends using a static IP address on
the computer running SoftPanel.
• SoftPanel is treated like a satellite panel by the
switcher. All satellite panel permissions apply.
• The Oracle
®
VM VirtualBox will prompt you to
download and install new versions of the VM
VirtualBox application.
• Not all menus and functionality are available when
using SoftPanel. Panel Diagnostics and Calibration,
ME Maps, and Positioner control are a few of the
menus and functions that are not available.
To Install SoftPanel
The SoftPanel is imported as an appliance into VM
VirtualBox.
To install SoftPanel on your computer, you need the
following:
