To Set Up a Preset Pattern Key
This procedure describes how to set up a preset pattern
key. If you want to modify the pattern, refer to To Set
Up a Pattern on page 102.
1. Press the SEL button on the Keyers module for the
key you want to set up and select a video source on
the Key bus.
Tip: The SEL button allows you to quickly select the keyer
you want to work with and assign the Key bus to the keyer.
On the Double-Down control panel, the top button row is
assigned to the even numbered keyers (2,4,6,8) and the
button row below is assigned to the odd numbered keyers
(1,3,5,7). This can be changed with the DD Key Delegation
personality option.
2. Press PST PATT.
Note: If the DVE option is installed, the FLY KEY button
turns on when a preset pattern key is selected. Turn the
FLY KEY button off for a preset pattern key.
3. Press Pattern Selection.
4. Select the pattern you want to use.
Tip: You can also select the pattern using the keypad on
the Global Memory or Effects Memory module to enter the
pattern number.
5. Press UP ONE.
6. Use the positioner to move the pattern around on the
screen and twist the positioner (or use the Size
knob) to adjust the size of the pattern.
7. Use the Softness knob to adjust the softness of the
edges of the pattern.
AuxKeys
The AuxKey
™
option turns a panel row into an Aux
Mixer, or Mixer/Keyer. In the AuxKey mode, you set
up transitions using the Background, Preset, and Key
buses and then perform transitions and key effects using
the Transition and Keyers modules of the panel row.
There are two types of AuxKeys, AuxKey Mixers and
AuxKey Mixer/Keyers. Depending on which one is
assigned to the aux bus you are using, you will have
different functionality.
Although the operation of the AuxKey is similar to that
of the existing ME, there are some notable differences
as follows:
• AuxKeys can only perform Cuts or Dissolves.
• AuxKeys have independent transition rates for the
Background and Keyer transitions.
• You can only preview your next shot by connecting
a preview monitor to the aux bus preview output.
• AuxKey Keyers can only perform Auto Select and
Self Keys.
• AuxKey Keyers have only one Keyer per AuxKey.
