Name
Allows you to assign a PROFINET name that is unique in the network. The name may
not be in use already for another device in the PROFINET. It can only contain lowercase
letters, numerals, and periods and hyphens. The Safety Designer stores the PROFINET
name retentively in the device.
b
Enter a PROFINET name unique to the network.
If you enter a PROFINET name that does not comply with the PROFINET naming
rules, Safety Designer can convert this name into a character string that is stored
in the device as a valid PROFINET name. The same character string must be used in
the PROFINET controller. Some other configuration software for PROFINET controllers
besides Safety Designer also convert the PROFINET name and can also calculate and
display the originally entered name from the character string.
