WARNING
Risk of death from spread of fire when enclosures are inadequate
Fire and smoke generation can cause serious injury or property damage.
Install devices without protective enclosures in a metal control cabinet (or protect the
device by another equivalent measure) in such a way that contact with fire inside and
outside the device is prevented.
Additionally, select the installation site so that an uncontrolled spreading of smoke is
prevented in the case of a fire.
Ensure that smoke can escape via designated paths.
WARNING
Risk of death due to unexpected movement of machines when mobile radio units or mobile
phones are used
When mobile radio units or mobile phones with a transmitting power > 1 W are used at
distances less than approximately 2 m from the components, device malfunctions can
occur that can affect the functional safety of machines and thus endanger people or cause
property damage.
Switch off radio units and mobile phones in the direct vicinity of the components.
WARNING
Risk of death from motor fire when insulation is overloaded
A ground fault in an IT system produces greater stress on the motor insulation. A possible
result is breakdown of the insulation with a risk of injury due to smoke generation and fire.
Use a monitoring device that signals an insulation fault.
Correct the fault as quickly as possible so that the motor insulation is not overloaded.
WARNING
Risk of death from fire when overheating occurs because of inadequate ventilation
clearances
Inadequate ventilation clearances can cause overheating with a risk of injury due to smoke
generation and fire. In addition, failures can increase and the service life of
devices/systems can be reduced.
Ensure compliance with the specified minimum clearances as ventilation clearances for
the respective component. These can be found in the dimension drawings or in the
"Product-specific safety instructions" at the start of the respective chapter.
