Removing the upper case
NOTE:
Drain the engine oil before removing the
upper case assembly.
1. Remove the lower mount cover 1. (L-
transom model)
2. Remove the ground lead 2 and speed-
ometer hose.
3. Remove the lower mount housings 3,
and then remove the upper and lower
mounting nuts 4 and 5.
4. Remove the upper case assembly 6.
5. Remove the upper mount 7 and lower
mount assemblies 8.
Disassembling the upper case
1. Remove the engine oil drain bolt 1 and
damper 2.
2. Remove the oil pan assembly 3 and
dowels 4 from the upper case 5.
3. Remove the rubber seals 6 and 7.
4. Remove the baffle plate 8.
È S-transom model
5. Remove the muffler 9 and gasket 0
from the oil pan assembly 3.
6. Remove the exhaust manifold A and
gasket B.
È S-transom model
7. Remove the oil pan C, oil strainer D,
relief valve assembly E, gaskets F and
G, cooling water pipe H, and dowels I.
