11. Install the union bolt E and tighten it to
the specified torque.
12. Install the oil filter F, and then tighten it
to the specified torque using a 64 mm
(2.5 in) oil filter wrench.
NOTE:
• Before installing the oil filter F, be sure to
supply engine oil to the oil passages g.
• Apply a thin coat of engine oil to the O-ring
of the oil filter F before installation.
13. Install new gaskets, the exhaust cover
G, the thermostat, and the thermostat
cover H, and then tighten the bolts to the
specified torques in 2 stages and in the
sequence shown.
Installing the power unit
1. Clean the power unit mating surface.
2. Install the dowels 1, a new gasket 2,
and the power unit 3, and then tighten
the mounting bolts 4 to the specified
torque.
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the gasket, always replace it
with a new one.

Crankcase bolt 1–8 (M8):
1st: 15 N·m (1.5 kgf·m, 11.1 ft·lb)
2nd: 30 N·m (3.0 kgf·m, 22.1 ft·lb)
Crankcase bolt 9–F (M6):
1st: 6 N·m (0.6 kgf·m, 4.4 ft·lb)
2nd: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 8.9 ft·lb)
Oil filter wrench: 90890-01426

7 N·m (0.7 kgf·m, 5.2 ft·lb)
