Checking the brush holder and
brush
1. Check the brush holder assembly for
continuity. Replace the PTT motor base if
out of specification.
NOTE:
The brush holder and circuit breaker cannot
be removed from the PTT motor base; if
either part is damaged, replace the PTT
motor base.
2. Measure the length of each brush.
Replace the brushes if below specifica-
tion.
Assembling the PTT motor
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the oil seal and O-rings,
always replace them with new ones.
Do not allow grease or oil to contact the
commutator of the armature.
1. Install a new oil seal into the PTT motor
base as shown.
2. Install the brush springs 3, brush (short
lead) 4, brush (long lead) 5, and brush
holder screws 6 to the PTT motor base
7 as shown.
