12.7 Use cases
12.7.1 8770 Setup from DVD request “Please insert the disk 1”
Symptom: If you do so, you will be prompted to provide a disk 1 and there is no disk 1. The log file does not
show anything odd.
Solution : Instead, copy the setup files, patches directory, etc… from the DVD to a local directory on drive C: ,
say for instance in the “Documents” folder and run ServerSetup.exe from there.
Nota : 8770 virtual machine on OTBE. This precaution does not apply to the usual zip file because files are
extracted to the local drive before the setup is called
12.7.2 8770 Ice account password lost
Symptom : Ice account password lost
Solution : the administrator password can be retrieve from installation guide to unlock the situation
12.7.3 8770 No access to the remote console
Symptom : no access thru mstsc (RDP) to the 8770 server
Diagnosis : check that the server is not in repair mode thru the OT remote access or to the local console
(login iceuser + su – root +startx)
Try to launch the 8770 in “Start windows normally”
If failed see the chapter about the 8770 recovery
12.7.4 No access to 8770 admin after upgrade
Symptom : after a OpenTouch server upgrade the ACS admin in no more accessible
Solution : apply the create_ice_admin script under root
12.7.5 Change the 8770 password
Launch c:\8770\bin\ToolsOmniVista.exe
Cn Directory Manager password : superuser
12.7.6 Vital Suite not started default MySQL DBA
Symptom : it’s impossible to launch Vital (or Performance) application
Diagnosis : The password of dba (account used for MySQL, Vital) is wrong
Solution : the default password is sql
12.7.7 Installation stopped due to request ldap to be stopped
Scenario : installation 8770
Symptom : Message stop : specify that ldap has to be stop
Diagnosis : Stop SunOne and other is not enough
Solution : Check in the install.log that the latest install has been done by the administrator account
12.7.8 MySQL not accessible by 8770 application
Symptom : MySQL not accessible thru SQL request
Diagnosis : the data base switch to binary when logs are set thru MySql Administrator wizard
Solution : don’t set logs on MySQL / retore a previous DB
