7.1.3 Shift light
While a programmable on/off output can be set to work as a shift light, the MS3Pro has a dedicated function for
this that allows separate shift settings for each gear. The shift light will need switched 12 volt power on one end
and the MS3Pro will supply ground. The light needs to be wired so it does not receive power with the key off. The
stepper outputs are an exception. Stepper Out 1A and Stepper Out 2A supply 12 volt power when active.
• Shift light output - Specifies which pin is used for shift light output.
• Per Gear Limits - Setting to On enables separate outputs per gear. Setting to Off uses a single limit. Trans-
mission gear sensing needs to be set up in the Speed and Gear Sensors settings under Advanced Engine
to use per gear limits.
• Limit - The point to turn on the shift light when not using per gear limits.
• 1st Gear Limit through 6th Gear Limit - Specifies when to turn on the shift light when using per gear limits.
7.1.4 Engine state settings
The Engine State Settings gives you a single point of tuning the criteria to activate several functions, to avoid the
need to dial in nearly identical numbers on multiple screens. Currently, the following functions make use of engine
states:
• Closed loop idle control
• Overrun fuel cut
• Idle timing control
• Idle VE table
If not using these advanced idle tuning settings, the engine states will have no effect on the tune, but will still show
up in data logs.
