8.14 Communication (Com.)
Communication selector.
Available in Quality Control and Advanced Analysis versions.
Com. consists of a pop-up menu with the following 3 selections:
1. Controller “Controller” selects communication with the selected controller under certain
criteria, see the table below. In other cases ToolsTalk ACTA is selected.
2. ToolsTalk
ACTA
“ToolsTalk ACTA” selects communication with the ToolsTalk ACTA PC
program.
3. Barcode “Barcode” selects communication with the Barcode Reader.
The type of communication currently active is shown by the communication symbol which is
located in the header of the measurement dialog box, see the table below:
Symbol Controller Type of communication
None Serial communication with ToolsTalk ACTA.
Other controller Serial communication with ToolsTalk ACTA.
Focus 2000/PF2000
serial
Focus 2000 / Power Focus 2000 communication selected.
DS serial Serial communication with DS controller if:
“Controller” (Prog.-1-5) is set to “DS”
“Communication” (Prog.-1-6) is set to “RS232”
“Com.” is set to “Controller”.
DS infrared Infrared communication with DS controller if:
“Controller” (Prog.-1-5) is set to “DS”
“Communication” (Prog.-1-6) is set to “Infrared”
“Com.” is set to “Controller”.
Note!
The operator must aim the ACTA 3000 (the connector side
where the IR device is located) at the display of the DS to
make communication possible. The operator must press any
button on the DS controller after the text on the display
flashes. The button should be pressed for a minimum of 2
seconds.
