Overview
Using ExtremeWare XOS, you can manage the switch using the following methods:
â—Ź Access the command line interface (CLI) by connecting a terminal (or workstation with terminal-
emulation software) to the console port.
â—Ź Access the switch remotely using TCP/IP through one of the switch ports or through the dedicated
10/100 unshielded twisted pair (UTP) Ethernet management port. Remote access includes:
â– Telnet using the CLI interface.
â– Secure Shell (SSH2) using the CLI interface.
â– Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) access using EPICenter or another SNMP
manager.
● Download software updates and upgrades. For more information, see Appendix A, “Software
Upgrade and Boot Options.”
NOTE
Beginning with ExtremeWare XOS 11.2, the switch accepts IPv6 Telnet and SSH2 connections.
The switch supports up to the following number of concurrent user sessions:
â—Ź One console session
â– Two console sessions are available if two management modules are installed.
