6 For System Administrator, select the cleaning method. Select [Clean with Felt] or [Clean
with Paper].
When you select [Clean with Paper], load a paper for cleaning.
For Local Users, select [Clean with Paper]. Load paper to clean on the tray.
Note • For cleaning, use the coated paper (81 - 350 gsm) or uncoated paper (106 - 350 gsm) that both
sides of the paper can be loaded.
• Select [Embossed] for uncoated papers or [Cast Coated] for coated papers.
• When you use a uncoated paper, if an embossed paper is not loaded on a tray, specify Embossed
Paper.
Note • The Cleaning Fusing Unit screen varies depending on the authentication mode. When you log in as
a System Administrator, you can select either [Cleaning with Felt] or [Cleaning with Paper]. When
you log in as a Local User, "Cleaning with Paper" is started automatically.
Clean with Felt
Selecting [Start] starts cleaning the fusing unit automatically.
Note • Only System Administrator can perform this setting.
• This cleaning method uses a felt paper inside the machine. Another paper for cleaning is not
required.
Clean with Paper
Select the tray in which you load a paper for cleaning and select [1~5] for paper quantity.
Selecting [Start] starts cleaning the fusing unit automatically.
Important • Outputting one or two sheets in some times is more effective than outputting many sheets (e.g.
five) at the same time. Especially, output a fewer paper if you use paper with long length of paper
feed direction such as A3 SEF and 11 × 17" SEF .
Note • Select a paper size larger than A4 LEF or 8.5 x 11" LEF. Cleaning cannot be started with smaller
papers.
7 Cleaning the fusing unit is finished properly,
the screen on right is displayed.
