Selecting the Programmable Presets
The PS1000 contains 63 Programmable Presets organized into seven different
banks: 10 Presets are programmed at the factory and the other 53 are “empty”,
ready to be user-programmed.
1. Press the PRESET RECALL button.
Pressing this button sets the instrument for Prog. Preset selection and gains
access to the first Prog. Preset Group (1).
2. Press the Function button F1 under the display.
Pressing this button recalls the first Preset (F1) of the current Prog. Preset
Group. You will observe a change in the program change numbers of the
tracks and the status of the LEDs of the panel.
If you play on the keyboard, you will hear a single Piano sound (Grand
Piano) assigned to the Upper 1 section active across the entire keyboard.
The Prog. Preset F1 from Group 1 recalls a configuration of 8 sounds, three
for the keyboard sections and 5 for the Styles. The three keyboard sections
for real time playing are configured to play in Single mode, with the Grand
Piano sound assigned to the Upper 1 keyboard section across the entire
keyboard. The remaining 5 sounds are assigned to the sequencer and play
as automatic accompaniment when you play with the Style.
Also recalled in an appropriate Reverb effect and corresponding effect vol-
ume, a Style, a Style Variation and a Tempo setting (provided that Style
Lock and Tempo Lock are both off).
3. Press another Function button.
For example, press function button F3. You will recall a Split Preset consist-
ing of the SoloGuitar sound assigned to the Upper 2 section and the Halo
Pad sound assigned to the Lower section.
The Upper 1 section will be off and the keyboard will be split at note F#3.
A completely different panel setting will also be recalled.
4. Change Prog. Preset Group by using the Octave –/+ buttons.
The Octave + button scrolls the Prog. Preset Groups in increasing numeri-
cal order from 1 - 7. Use the [–] button to select the Prog. Preset Groups in
decreasing numerical order.
For example, press the Octave + button once to select Group 2 then select
the first Prog. Preset (F1) of the second Group.
