2•16 User Guide
While playing the Style
While you are playing, the Beat pattern indicator under the Metronome icon
monitors the beats of each bar. The first large dot represents the first beat of a
bar while the smaller ones indicate the second, third and fourth beat. For a
two-bar riff, the beat pattern sequence is as illustrated in the margin.
At ay time while you are playing, you can change Style, use the automatic
functions (Fill, Intro, Ending, etc.). Refer to the paragraph, “Using the auto-
matic functions” on page 2.17 of this chapter.
You can recall the Single Touch Play settings using the Function buttons F1-F9,
which change the RealTime sounds and Style variation (only if Single Touch
Play is on). Refer to the paragraph, “The Single Touch Play settings” on page
2.13.
You can modify the real time sound configuration by intervening directly on the
corresponding Keyboard activators (Upper 2, Upper 1 and Lower). This proce-
dure is explained on page 1.15 of the Quick Guide, under the paragraph,
“Reconfiguring the Presets using the Keyboard Activators”.
The Style Volume and Balance
Adjust the overall volume of the Style with the MASTER VOLUME panel slider.
If you have connected a Volume Pedal (optional), you can adjust the overall
volume or the section volume. Refer to the Midi/General chapter, page 2.50,
for information regarding how to program the Pedal Volume parameter for sec-
tion volume control.
Use the BALANCE buttons to increase or decrease the Keyboard Sounds or
Accompaniment sounds accordingly. Refer to the paragraph, “Balancing Key-
board and Accompaniment sounds” on page 1.10 of the Quick Guide.
Adjusting the individual Sound volumes
You can adjust the volume level of the Style and Keyboard tracks independ-
ently, by selecting the track with the corresponding Function button (until the
name flashes in the display) and using the TEMPO/DATA / buttons.
Refer to the paragraph, “Changing the Volume Balance between two sounds”
for specific and illustrated details of the method. When adjusting the individual
sound volumes of the Style tracks, the important thing to remember is to deac-
tivate the Single Touch Play button BEFORE selecting a track. When the Sin-
gle Touch Play function is on, the Function buttons F1 - F9 select the Single
Touch Play settings of the current Style.
