Hard Disk 2•69
1. After gaining access to the Partition where you want to save your Song
Styles, select the “All” command using the PAGE button.
2. Press ENTER twice to save the Song Style (and all other RAM memory
data) to the Hard Disk partition.
A Hard Disk partition cannot contain more than one ALL file type.
Song Styles cannot be saved as Midi Files.
Creating a new partition (New Part)
Your PS1300 has a Hard Disk with a large choice of partitions, each containing
a vast amount of data (refer to the Hard Disk content tables in the Appendix).
When saving data to the Hard Disk, you can create a new partition, useful if you
discover that those already present are full, or if you prefer not to cancel any
data already memorized to the factory partitions.
1. Press the DISK button once (or twice if a disk is inserted in the drive) to
enter the Hard Disk.
2. Hold down the TEMPO/DATA
button until the display shows the mes-
sage: “New Part?”.
You can also select a New Part by holding down the Octave [+] button.
3. Confirm the New Part? request with ENTER.
The new partition will have no name, but a flashing underscore symbol will
appear indicating the position of the first letter of any name you wish to
insert.
4. At this point, you can insert a name for the new partition.
Use the keys of the keyboard to enter characters and use the Tempo/Data
buttons to move the flashing cursor.
(See the “Text Entry” example on page 1.6 of the Quick Guide).
5. Press ENTER.
The display requests confirmation of the operation with the message:
“SURE?”.
6. Press ENTER again.
After a short instant, the new Hard Disk partition will be created.
