Save
PS1000 data can be saved using one of the following methods:
as single elements: Song, Style (User), MidiFile;
as a set of files corresponding to Groups: Styles (User), Presets (7 Pro-
grammable Preset Groups + 2 User Sound Preset Groups), Sample (entire
contents of the Sample RAM memory);
all the data present in RAM memory (including Song Styles) using the ALL
option.
In order to save a single element, you can choose to save with the same name,
or specify a different one. To save Presets, Samples, Styles and all RAM memory
data (All), a name is not required.
Save procedure
1. Have newly formatted disk or a used disk ready, insert it in the drive and
press the DISK button.
The disk icon appears in the display as an indication that you are in Disk
mode.
2. Move the right display arrowhead next to the SAVE disk menu function
with the Cursor button.
The Song file type is shown in the display.
If the disk drive contains an unformatted disk, pressing SAVE prompts the
message “UNFORMAT”. Format the Disk and proceed.
If the disk is protected, pressing SAVE prompts the message, “PRO-
TECTED”. Remove the protection and proceed.
If the disk is damaged, pressing SAVE prompts the message “CORRUPTED”.
Use a new or used disk and proceed.
3. Use the PAGE buttons to select a file type that you wish to save (Song,
Midi File, Style, Styles, Presets, Sample).
To save all the Ram data to disk, select the ALL option.
4. After selecting the file type, press ENTER.
If you select the Song, Midi F, or Style file type, the name of the single
element contained in RAM memory is displayed with the first letter flashing
(our example in the margin on the right shows a Song file). In this case,
proceed to the next step (5).
If you select the Styles, Preset or Sample file type or the ALL option, the
display shows the message “SURE?” as a confirmation request. In this
case, go directly to step 8.
5. If you are saving a single file, use the TEMPO/DATA buttons to scroll
through the files until you find that one that you want to save.
The first letter of the file name will continue to flash.
If you want to write a different name for the file, use the keys of the
keyboard to enter characters and the Tempo/Data buttons to move the
flashing cursor. (See “Text Entry” on page 1.6 of the Quick Guide).
If you want to save with the same name, proceed to the next step.
