If the machine has been stored without carrying out the monthly rust-prevention operation, consult your
Komatsu distributor before using it.
When using the machine after long-term storage, do as follows before using it.
q Wipe off the grease from the hydraulic cylinder rods.
q Add oil and grease at all lubrication points.
q When the machine is stored for a long period, moisture in the air will mix with the oil. Check the oil before and
after starting the engine. If there is water in the oil, change all the oil.
q Bleed the air from the work equipment cylinder circuits. For details of the method of bleeding the air, see
“BLEEDING AIR FROM HYDRAULIC SYSTEM (4-49)“.
STARTING MACHINE AFTER LONG-TERM STORAGE 3
When starting the engine after long-term storage, carry out the warming-up operation thoroughly. For details, see
“Engine Warm Up (3-193)“.
