Installation Entries The installation sequence requires the following entries:
Requirements Before installation, make sure that:
! The IP address has been saved in the print server.
! The host name has been assigned to the IP address.
! The print server is connected, and the printer is turned on.
Procedure Proceed as follows:
1. Log on as root.
2. Start SMIT.
3. Select the following menu commands in the order shown
below:
'Devices'
'Printer/Plotter'
'Manage Remote Printer Subsystem'
'Client Services'
'Remote Printer Queues'
'Add Remote Queue'
4. Enter the following parameters into the screen mask:
Example: Name of QUEUE [MY_QUEUE]
Queuing DISCIPLINE [first come first serve]
ACTIVATE the queue? [yes]
Destination HOST [SB0001FF]
Pathname SHORT FILTER [ ]
Pathname LONG FILTER [ ]
Name of QUEUE for remote printer [lp1]
