3.3.1 Fiber Optic Cable Handling Precautions
Avoid the following when handling fiber optic cables (Illustrated in the figure below):
• Sharp turns in the fiber optic cables that can damage the cables
• Tension or twisting of fiber
• Pinch points and “scissors”
• Pulling on the fiber optic cable to untangle twisted areas (carefully unwind any tangles)
• Dropping or scraping the connectors on hard surfaces
