Grease (C109)
(1). Lubricate O-rings (3 and 4) with grease
(C109) and install on fuel booster pump
cartridge (2).
Do not use cartridge pulling tool
(T802) to insert pump cartridge.
(2). Position pump cartridge (2) so that
arrow aligns with arrow on fuel pump
housing (9).
(3). Insert pump cartridge into fuel booster
pump housing. Use hands only, to push
pump cartridge into place.
(4). Make sure that pump cartridge is
properly seated and Spirolox retaining
ring groove is not obstructed.
(5). Install Spirolox retaining ring (5) in
bottom of fuel booster pump to retain
cartridge.
Grease (C109)
(6). Lubricate O-ring (6) with grease
(C109) and install on bleeder/drain plug
(7). Install bleeder/drain plug in pump
cartridge. Torque bleeder/drain plug (7).
(7). Secure bleeder/drain plug (7) with
lockwire (C702).
(8). Rotate fuel shut-off lever arm 180° to
align with the pump cartridge negative
terminal.
(9). Visually check for fuel leaks.
Do not over torque terminal
screws.
(10). Attach wire harness (10, Ref.
Figure 403).
(a). Attach (short) straight slot screw (16)
and:
A111 (Q12D16) wire to left booster
pump positive (+) terminal.
A112 (Q13C16) wire to right booster
pump positive (+) terminal.
(b). While pressing upward on the stem
of lever arm, secure negative wire
and case ground wire by inserting
(long) Allen drive shoulder screw (17)
into position and tighten. Be sure to
have wires between shoulder on
screw and lever arm. Attach:
A111 (Q35A16N) and (Q35B16) wire
to left booster pump negative (-)
terminal.
A112 (Q36A16N) and (Q36B16) wire
to right booster pump negative (-)
terminal.
(11). Perform fuel booster pump operational
test (Ref. Section 28-00-00).
(12). Install sump access panel assembly
B178 (Ref. Section 06-00-00).
