Parts Maintenance tasks
Laser scanners Clean the optics covers of the scanners for optimum performance.
Use anti-static cleaning products, and avoid aggressive or abrasive
cleaning agents.
Make sure to also clean the top part of the optics cover. The
contamination sensors scan the entire optics cover glass piece.
In the robot interface under Monitoring > Hardware health >
Emergency stop, see if Front scanner cover and Back scanner
cover is Clean.
Static charges cause dust particles to be attracted to the optics
cover. You can diminish this effect by using the anti-static plastic
cleaner (SICK part no. 5600006) and the SICK lens cloth (part no.
4003353). See the manufacturer’s own documentation.
15.2 Regular checks and replacements
Always disconnect the battery before performing maintenance tasks to prevent unexpected start-
up—see "Disconnecting the battery" on page92.
Table 15.2 contains the parts that you should check and how often you should do that.
