Replacing the Power Fuse
The Inter-Tel 5000 Base Server has a replaceable power fuse, part no. 802.2028. The fuse is
located above the power cord connection on the back of the chassis, as shown in Figure 5-51.

To replace the power fuse:
1. Perform a Database backup—for details, refer to the Inter-Tel 5000 Features and
Programming Guide (part no: 580.8006). You can also back up the database using the
LCD panel—see page 5-34.
2. Perform a voice processing database backup. With the Inter-Tel CS-5200 and CS-5600
running BVM, Inter-Tel recommends using a USB flash drive attached to the USB-A port
on the front of the Inter-Tel CS-5200/5400/5600 Base Server chassis. Do not back up
VM to the Inter-Tel memory card. For the backup procedure, refer to the Inter-Tel 5000
Features and Programming Guide (part no: 580.8006). For a list of USB flash drives that
have been tested as compatible with the system, see “USB Flash Drives” on page 4-24.
3. Shut down the system using the LCD panel. See Figure 5-14 on page 5-34 for an
illustration of the menu locations.
4. Unplug the power cord.
5. Remove the fuse from above the power connection at the back of the chassis, then
replace the fuse.
6. Make sure the fuse is seated correctly, then connect the power cord. The system powers
up and begins the boot process.
