Installing a PCDPM
The following areas must be addressed to properly install and configure the PC Data Port
Module (PCDPM):
Hardware Installation (discussed on the pages that follow)
o Executive Display or Standard Display Endpoint (page 5-185)
o Professional Display or Associate Display Endpoint (page 5-186)
o Model 8520 or 8560 Endpoint (page 5-187)
System DB Programming (refer to the Inter-Tel 5000 Features and Programming Guide
(part no: 580.8006))
For Off-Hook Voice Announce (OHVA) receive capability, and to allow a DSS/BLF Unit and/or
Modem Data Port Module to be installed, any Standard, Associate, Executive, or Professional
Display endpoint or Model 8520 or 8560 endpoint may be equipped with a PC Data Port Module
(PCDPM). For the Executive and Standard Display endpoints, PCDPM part no. 550.3018
[PB2585 in Europe] or 550.3014 [PB2548-A] is required. For the Professional and Associate
display endpoints, PCDPM part no. 550.3018 is required. Models 8520 and 8560 endpoints
require PCDPM part no. 550.8400.
The original model PCDPM, part no. 550.3014 [PB2548-A in Europe], for the Executive Display
and Standard Display endpoints has been replaced with part no. 550.3018 [PB2585]. The new
PCDPM, part no. 550.3018, and the Model 8520/8560 PCDPM, part no. 550.8400, do not
require an external AC transformer. For details, see Figure 5-70 on page 5-184. Refer to the
installation instructions included with the unit. Procedures for installing PCDPMs begin on
page 5-185.
PCDPMs can be used for the following purposes:
