Cabling to Endpoints
Endpoint cable consists of Category 5e (CAT 5e) or CAT 5 cable connected between the IP
endpoint and the local area network (LAN) at the user’s endpoint location.
Patch cables If using the rack-mount installation method, patch cables
terminated with 8P/8C plugs provide rapid, safe, and secure
interconnection of trunk module circuits with telco facilities.

6-pin to 8-pin step-up plug
adapters
For connecting cables terminated with 6-pin plugs into 8-pin
patch panel sockets.
6-wire modular jack assembly
wired to RJ-11 specifications
For prewiring CO lines for Power Fail Bypass circuits.
6-wire modular jack assembly
wired to RJ-14 specifications
May be used to terminate cables from the telephone
company (CO) to the customer’s premises. May also be used
for prewiring CO trunks.
8-wire modular jack assembly
wired to RJ-48C
specifications, or to RJ-45S
in Europe
For prewiring T1, T1/PRI, and E1/PRI trunks.
Four- or 6-wire modular plug For terminating cable ends for insertion into jacks.

Appropriate wiring for making network connections to
telephone facilities and, where appropriate, to IP end users.
Bridging clips To ensure complete electrical contact between cross-
connected wires on a 66M1-50 or 237A Krone block.
Miscellaneous hardware,
materials, and tools
Appropriate tools and fasteners to mount the backboard on a
wall and to secure terminal blocks and other system-required
equipment to the backboard.
a. System requirements will determine the size of the MDF backboard and the quantity of each item.
b. Provide sufficient Category 5 (CAT 5) or CAT 5e cabling for connecting the LAN server to the Inter-
Tel 5000 Base Server and for connecting IP endpoints to the LAN, as needed.
