To reload system and voice mail databases:
For the tasks in this procedure, refer to the Inter-Tel 5000 Features and Programming Guide
(part no: 580.8006).
1. Restore the full database and voice processor data to the system.
2. Verify results.
3. Perform a full save of database and voice processor data after the upgrade is complete.
To verify that external clients point to the PS-1: During the installation and system bring-up
process, existing external clients should automatically re-set to point to the PS-1 IP address. To
avoid possible interruption of service, confirm satisfactory operation of all IP-connected clients.
To operate with the Inter-Tel CS-5600, external clients must point to the PS-1 rather than the
Base Server. Clients include, but may not be limited to, OAI CT Gateway, OAI applications,
Attendant Console, System Manager, DB Programming sessions, external voice mail and
Diagnostics Monitor client sessions.
Inter-Tel CS-5600 Licensing with USB Security Key
A USB 2.0 port on the front of the PS-1 accepts the Inter-Tel 5600 system security key. See
Figure 5-26 on page 5-52. The security key holds the Inter-Tel 5000 master license information.
This master license includes BVM configuration information and, when inserted, disables the
BVM license information on the Base Server. In this configuration, the Base Server does not
need a security key.
You must first connect an Inter-Tel USB security key to the PS-1. The security key has an Inter-
Tel serial number. The customer must then purchase an Inter-Tel CS-5600 software license that
corresponds to the Inter-Tel serial number. Once received, the software license can be
uploaded to the PS-1 through DB Programming. For details, refer to the Inter-Tel 5000 Features
and Programming Guide (part no: 580.8006).
For details about changes to the software license, see “Licensing for v2.x and Inter-Tel CS-5600
Upgrades” on page 3-15. For details about default database values for Inter-Tel 5000 platform
under each configuration, refer to the Inter-Tel 5000 Features and Programming Guide (part no:
580.8006).
NOTE
To reduce the amount of programming changes to IP endpoints and remote nodes,
Inter-Tel recommends that the CS-5X00 IP address should not change because IP
networking and IP endpoint configuration values continue to point at this IP address.
