Extended storage
When an electrode is not to be used for a long period of time, store the electrode after per-
forming the following procedure. Also, exchange the standard solution every three to six
months, using the step explained below.
1. Remove the electrode from the pH meter.
2. Remove the protective cap from the electrode.
3. Open the internal solution filler port , then use a plunger to remove the standard
solution.
4. Fill the electrode with new internal solution (#300), until it nears the filler port.
Chemical Solution
The liquid inside the electrode is highly
concentrated potassium chloride (3.33 mol/L KCl).
If the internal solution in the electrode comes in
contact with your hands or skin, wash immediately
with water. If the internal solution comes in contact
with your eyes, flush immediately with large
amounts of water and seek treatment by a
physician.
