2-20-8 Starting External Applications
The NS-series PTs provide the functionality to start ladder monitoring and other external applications.
Method for Starting External Applications
External applications are started from the System Menu.
1. Display the System Menu, select the desire external applications from Special Functions on the
Special Screen Tab Page, and press the START Button. (The following illustration shows the Lad-
der Monitor being selected.)
2. The PT will be reset.
3. The specified external application will be started after the PT restarts.
Refer to the manual for the external application for operating methods and procedures for messages
that are displayed.

Ladder Monitor, Communication Test, Video Configuration, USB Device List, Show the Captured
Data, and PLC Data Trace are not external applications. If any of these is selected and the START
Button is pressed, the display will change in the System Menu. The PT will not be restarted.
