3-6 Inputting Numeral and Character Strings
This section describes how to input numerals and character strings.
3-6-1 Inputting Numerals
The following two objects are used to input numerals.
• Numeral display and input objects
• Thumbwheel switches
Inputting to Numeral Display and Input Objects
There are two methods for inputting to numeral display and input objects.
• Input from a keypad.
• Input from Command Buttons.
Inputting From a Keypad
1. In the numeral display and input property setting on the Keypad Tab Page, set either system key-
pad or Large system keypad as the input method.
2. A keypad will be displayed during operation when a numeral display and input object is pressed.
The keypad displayed for input will depend on the display type selected on the General Tab Page.
List of Keypads
Display type Keypad Dialog Box
Decimal
Octal
Binary
Shows the upper limit for input.
Shows the lower limit for input.
Shows the value currently input.
Clears the previous value.
Clears the input value.
Disables the input string and
closes the keypad.
Sets the input string and closes
the keypad.
Hexadecimal
