SER MGT and NET MGT Port Locations and Numbering
The NET MGT and SER MGT ports are accessible on the SPs and SPPs from the rear of the
server.
Refer to the SPARC M8 and SPARC M7 Servers Installation Guide for information about
cabling the network management ports on your server.
Note - The SPARC M8 SP has a SPARC M8 label on its left extraction lever. The SPARC M7
SPs do not have a label.
No. Description Links
1–4 SER MGT ports (0–3) The serial ports enable you to connect directly to the SPs and
SPPs.
5–8 NET MGT ports (0–3) The Ethernet ports enable you to connect the server to your local
network so that you can manage the server from a remote location.
