Servicing the CMIOU Chassis
SPARC M8-8 and SPARC M7-8 servers each have a single CMIOU chassis. For the
location of the chassis, see “Server Front Components (SPARC M8-8 and SPARC M7-8
Servers)” on page 16.
SPARC M7-16 servers have two CMIOU chassis and a single switch chassis. For the locations
of these chassis, see “Server Front Components (SPARC M7-16)” on page 18.
The steps involved in replacing either of these chassis are the same.
Caution - This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge. This discharge can cause server components to fail. Follow antistatic precautions to
prevent electrostatic damage. See “Prevent ESD Damage” on page 61.

Remove a CMIOU Chassis
This is procedure can be performed only by qualified service personnel. Remove AC power
using the circuit breakers on the appropriate PDU before performing this procedure.
