Servicing the Switch Chassis
There is one switch chassis in the SPARC M7-16 server. For the location of the switch chassis,
see “Server Front Components (SPARC M7-16)” on page 18 and “Server Rear Components
(SPARC M7-16)” on page 19.
Caution - This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge. This discharge can cause server components to fail. Follow antistatic precautions to
prevent electrostatic damage. See “Prevent ESD Damage” on page 61.

Remove a Switch Chassis
This procedure can be performed only by qualified service personnel. Power down the server
completely before performing this procedure.
1.
Take the necessary ESD precautions.
See “Prevent ESD Damage” on page 61.
2.
Power off the server and switch off the appropriate PDU circuit breakers.
