Servicing the Front Indicator Panel
The front indicator panel is located on the front of the CMIOU chassis for SPARC M8-8 and
SPARC M7-8 servers, and on the front of the CMIOU chassis and switch chassis for SPARC
M7-16 servers. The service procedures are the same on either chassis. For the location of the
front indicator panel, see “CMIOU Chassis Front Components” on page 20 or “Switch Chassis
Front Components (SPARC M7-16)” on page 23.
Caution - This procedure requires that you handle components that are sensitive to electrostatic
discharge. This discharge can cause server components to fail. Follow antistatic precautions to
prevent electrostatic damage. See “Prevent ESD Damage” on page 61.

Remove a Front Indicator Panel
This procedure can be performed only by qualified service personnel.
Caution - Remove AC power using the circuit breakers on the appropriate PDU before
performing this procedure.
