The 8-zone Expansion Module (ZX8) is an interface between the control panels and any hardwired detection
devices. The ZX8 connects to the control panel's combus to provide eight additional hardwired inputs and one
50mA on-board PGM output.
See Component Specifications and Installation guides at the end of this document for Installation instructions.

7.3 Testing and Maintenance
Note: This system must be checked by a qualified technician at least once every three (3) years.
Note: The security system should be tested weekly by the master user or his assignee.
Note: The tester should always notify the CMS before starting a test.
Note: This system must be checked monthly with the primary ac power de-energized.
Note: Automatic Termination of System Test Mode is not supported.
Maintenance of smoke detectors must be done. To keep your equipment in excellent working order, ongoing
monthly maintenance is required as outlined above and as per UL and NFPA standards. A preventative

component of that system which fails must be repaired or replaced as soon as possible.
7.3.1 Burglar Alarm Testing
Two people are needed to complete this test. One person will watch the screen on the keypad while the other
person walks around the protected areas and opens the zones.
(i.e. opens the doors and windows that are protected, walk in the path of the motion detectors, etc.). The screen
will display the opened zones, but if a zone does not register, contact your installer.
7.3.2 Fire Alarm Testing
Do NOT use an open flame or burning materials to test your fire detection devices. Your installer will provide
details on the best way to test your system.
Note: The smoke detector model SD360 shall be tested and maintained according to its installation guide ref.
SD360-EI00.
