Discharging the Therapy Capacitor
WARNING: Use extreme caution in the following steps. Dangerous voltages may be present on components and
connections. Do not touch any components or connections until you are sure the Therapy Capacitor is
discharged.
To discharge the Therapy Capacitor:
1 Find two discharge holes on the Processor PCA. See Figure 58, , .
2 Insert the Defibrillator Discharge Tool into the holes till the two tips touch the two metal discharge
studs on the therapy PCA.
3 Hold in place for at least 10 seconds.
4 Once you made a 10-second contact, the Therapy Capacitor is now safely discharged.
