PTG Burst Mode
A PTG configured to run in Burst Mode will generate a short burst of very rapid gate
pulses. The pulse burst can be driven from an external trigger or from the internal
oscillator. The maximum number of pulses is duty cycle limited but a good rule of thumb
is 50 pulses/burst.
Burst mode is supported in the PI-MAX 512
*
, 1k, and 1024 RB/SB/UV/HQ models. The
maximum burst mode repetition rate depends on the model and the intensifier. In the
1024 series of detectors, the maximum burst repetition rate is 250 kHz (minimum burst
period = 4 usec) For the 512 and 1K series of detectors, the maximum burst repetition
rate depends on the intensifier as in Table 8.
*
Burst mode is not supported in the PI-MAX 512 detectors with Gen II (SB Slow Gate, RB Slow
Gate) intensifiers.
