Troubleshooting
3. CLV does not respond to an
external signal that ends the reading
pulse (sensor input, serial interface)
Trigger mode: one external sensor
Incorrect end of reading pulse para-
meterized in the CLV.
No signal from the sensor at the
"Sensor“ switching input.
Trigger mode: two external sensors
If "IN 4“ switching input is choosen as
trigger source for end of reading interval:
no sensor connected or polarity inverted.
The object does not pass the reading
pulse sensor for trigger start with the
conveyor running.
Trigger mode: serial interface
Incorrect command used.
Laser timeout exceeded.
In the "CLV-Setup" program:
choose the DEVICE CONFIGURATION tab,
click the READING TRIGGER PARAMETERS
button.
END OF READING INTERVAL section: is "gen-
erated by Trigger Source" selected?
Check wiring of the sensor
(see Fig. 5-5, Page 5-18).
Measure output signal of the sensor.
Connect sensor to the "IN 4“ switching
input. Check wiring of the sensor (see
Chapter 5.5.7 Connecting the "Sensor"
switching input, Page 5-17).
Choose the DEVICE CONFIGURATION tab,
ASSIGNMENT OF INPUTS section: is "IN 4"
selected (active high or active low)?
Click the READING TRIGGER PARAMETERS but-
ton, END OF READING INTERVAL section: is
"generated by IN 4“
selected?
Install reading pulse sensor in front of the
CLV in conveying direction.
See also Chapter 4.4.2 Mounting the ex-
ternal reading pulse sensor, Page 4-10
See 2. Remedy
See remedy in Table 8-5, Page 8-9.
4. CLV does not terminate the reading clock
or terminate the clock too late
Reading mode "OTS-trigger" (in combi-
nation with OTC 400):
Incremental encoder not connected or
connected to the wrong switching input
of the OTC 400.
Incorrect reading mode parameterized
in the CLV.
Incorrect resolution of incremental en-
coder parameterized in the CLV.
No conveyor motion (CLV does not re-
ceive incremental signals).
Laser timeout exceeded.
Connect incremental encoder to the
correct switching input. Check wiring.
Check the output signal of the incremen-
tal encoder.
In the "CLV-Setup" program:
Choose the DEVICE CONFIGURATION tab,
READING TRIGGER SOURCE section: "OTS
trigger" selected?
DISTANCE PER ENCODER PULSE section:
value selected?
In the "CLV-Setup" program:
DISTANCE PER ENCODER PULSE section:
value correctly selected?
Start the conveyor.
See remedy in Table 8-5, Page 8-9.
