3.2.1 Ambient conditions
Observing the ambient conditions
The controller is tested for compliance with the ambient conditions specified below. Fault-free
operation is only ensured if:
● These ambient conditions are maintained when storing, transporting and operating the
equipment.
● Original components and spare parts are used. This applies in particular to the use of
specified cables and connectors.
● The equipment is correctly installed and commissioned.
Standard requirements
The SINUMERIK 828D system components meet the following standard requirements:
Long-term storage EN 60721-3-1
Transport EN 60721-3-2
Stationary operation EN 60721-3-3
Assistance and support
Compliance with environmental requirements must be ensured during installation of the
complete system. Please contact your sales representative for assistance and support.
