Signal transfer
Max. two electronic handwheels can be connected to connector X143 on the rear of the PPU.
Note
The SINUMERIK 828D software can process up to max. 3 handwheels. You can connect 2
handwheels to the PPU. You can connect an additional handwheel to the machine control
panel, see Anschließbare Komponenten (Page 93).
The signals can be transferred using the following technique:
Differential signal transfer (RS422): One signal and a negated signal for each track.
Asymmetrical signal transfer: One 5 V TTL signal for each track.
The following applies to both techniques:
Max. output frequency: 500 kHz
Phase shift of Track A to Track B: 90° ±30°
Supply: 5 V, max. 250 mA
