CASTER REPLACEMENT (FIXED BASE)
TOOLS REQUIRED:
• Floor Jack
• 3/4 in. Socket
• 3/8 in. Drive Ratchet
• (2) Bungee Cords (or equivalent)
• Stryker Special Key p/n: 19-0803Z
PROCEDURE:
1. Raise all siderails to the highest position.
2. Lift the base hood, separating the Velcro fasteners holding it to the base, and support it using bungee cords.
3. Using a floor jack, raise the end of the stretcher near the caster(s) needing repair approximately 9 in. off the floor.
4. Using the Stryker Special key and a 3/4 in. socket, remove the locknut and washer (A) holding the caster (B) to
the base. Remove the defective caster. Refer to Figure 3.
5. Reverse the above steps to install the new caster. Verify proper operation of the new caster before replacing the
base hood and returning the stretcher to service.
