TOOLS REQUIRED:
• 1/2 in. Socket
• 9/16 in. Socket
• 3/8 in. Drive Ratchet
• 1/2 in. Combination Wrench
• 9/16 in. Combination Wrench
• Spring Compression Tool (Stryker p/n: 1210-001-003)
• OG2 Grease (Stryker p/n: M0027)
PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the litter (see “Litter Removal - Hydraulic Base Stretcher” procedure, page 1-51).
2. Lower the jacks completely using the appropriate release pedal.
3. Move the base from underneath the supported stretcher litter to an appropriate working area.
4. Lift off the plastic base hood, separating the Velcro fasteners holding it to the base.
5. Using a 1/2 in. combination wrench and a 1/2 in. socket, remove the locknut and bolt linking the activation bar to
the pump piston.
6. Using a spring compression tool, compress the pump spring of the jack needing replacement.
7. Remove the spring and shoulder socket from the pump piston.
Note
Apply OG2 grease to the spring before reassembly.
8. Using a 1/2 in. combination wrench and a 1/2 in. socket, remove the two locknuts and two bolts holding the jack
clamp to the frame.
9. Using a 9/16 in. combination wrench and a 9/16’ socket, remove the four locknuts, four washers, and four bolts
holding the jack base to the base frame. Support the jack base before removing the fasteners.
10. Remove the jack. Use caution as the release valve pin is still connected to the descent lever. Install the spring
holder and safety stop on the new jack.
11. Reverse the above steps to install the new jack.
12. Verify proper operation of the jack and adjust the jack descent rate (see the “Jack Descent Rate Adjustment”
procedure, page 1-37) before returning the stretcher to service.
