The following registers can be accessed through a serial line link using one
of the available communication protocols. The tables below list the
registers.
Parameter/Term Definition
Register A conventional name assigned to the Data.
Type The type can be one of the following.
• RO—The register can be read but cannot be written.
• RW—The register can be read or written. Write is allowed if the
instrument is in the specified protection level at the moment the
write message is received.
• WO—The register can only be written. Write is subject to
protection control.
Low limit The minimum acceptable value for the variable. Lower values are
considered as errors.
High limit The maximum acceptable value for the variable. Higher values are
considered as errors.
Refresh time The time between two updates of the variable in the instrument's
memory.
Protection The minimum protection level which must be in place to allow access to
the variable, as follows.
• always – available
• limited – available if limited or service
• service – available if service only
Format The register format can be one of the following.
• char—An ASCII string
• integer—16 bits IEEE integer (1 word)
• long—32 bits IEEE long integer (2 words)
• float—32 bits IEEE float (2 words)
• double—64 bits IEEE double precision float (4 words)
