Printhead Warranty

General Information
Since print head wear is part of normal operation; the original printhead is covered by the same
warranty period as the card printer. Warranty period begins on shipment date from CPS.
To qualify for this warranty, the printhead must be returned to the factory or to an authorized
service center. Customers are not required to purchase CPS supplies (media and/or ribbons)
for warranty qualification. However, if it is determined that the use of other manufacturer
supplies has caused any defect in the print head for which a warranty claim is made, the user is
responsible for CPS labor and material charges required to repair the defect.
The warranty becomes void if the printhead is physically damaged; also if it is determined that
failure to follow the preventive maintenance schedule listed in the User's Manual has caused
severe contamination in the thermal printhead for which a warranty claim is made.
Return Appointment Process
The end user must:
1. Obtain a Return Material Authorization (RMA) from Zebra, which will include an RMA
number that must be prominently displayed on the outside of the shipping container.
Returns without an RMA number may be rejected by Zebra and immediately returned to
end user, freight collect.
2. Ship the items being returned to Zebra, freight prepaid, together with a written description
of the claimed defect.
3. Pack the items being returned in the original packing carton or equivalent. Damage in
transit is end user’s responsibility and may be cause to void the warranty claim.
