Always make sure that the entire barcode is covered by
the green light beam when scanning.
For questions about working with barcodes that are not
answered in this manual and for best practice guidelines
on creating and reading barcodes, contact Accu-Chek
Customer Care (see Chapter 12).
EAN 13 barcodes, although widely used in retail, are
less recommendable for patient/operator barcodes. If
used, they demand the very highest quality standards of
barcode creation and reproduction.
It is possible to selectively enable or disable the
barcode types used for scanning Patient IDs or
Operator IDs. Barcode types that are not used can be
disabled (see “Barcode Configuration” on page 190).
This feature is only available via a Data Management
System (DMS).
