automatically mark the next partition’s blocks and so on. If, however, there are bad blocks
found in the partition, you will see this screen:
This is telling you that partition A has been arranged but that 32 bad blocks were found. This is
not a problem in itself and these blocks will not be used and you will still have plenty of blocks
free (a 40Meg partition will contain around 5,000 blocks!). You must press F1 (CONTINUE) to
arrange the next partition.
At the end of the formatting procedure, you will see this screen:
Press any key to exit this display.
When you begin the format procedure, if, for some reason, there is a problem with the S2000
communicating with the hard disk drive, you will see the message:
Please check SCSI connections and SCSI IDs, etc..
*** WARNING ***
BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL WHEN FORMATTING HARD DISKS. FORMATTING
OR ARRANGING WILL COMPLETELY WIPE THE DISK AND ALL DATA ON IT
WILL BE LOST FOREVER WITH NO WAY TO RETRIEVE IT. PLEASE MAKE
SURE THAT:
• THE CORRECT DISK IS SELECTED FOR FORMATTING/ARRANGING (GO
TO THE SCSI ID PAGE TO CHECK)
• YOU WANT TO ERASE THE DATA ON THE SELECTED DISK
• DATA ON THE SELECTED DISK IS BACKED UP ONTO FLOPPY DISK
AND/OR DAT BACKUP
• ONCE THE FORMAT/ARRANGE PROCESS HAS BEGUN, THERE’S NO
GOING BACK AND YOUR DISK WILL BE IRRETRIEVABLY ERASED.
