KEYGROUP CROSSFADE
The next page down alllows you to set keygroup crossfade:
This allows you to set crossfades for keygroups that overlap. As described above in the
introduction to program editing, this can be used to smooth out abrupt transitions between
keygroups. You will note that this is a ‘global’ parameter that affects the whole program and so
any keygroups that overlap will be subject to crossfading.
With the KEYGROUP CROSSFADE parameter set to OFF, any overlapping keygroups will
simply overlap. I.e.:
With it set to ON, the keygroups will crossfade across the overlap making the transition
between keygroups smoother. I.e.:
Keygroup crossfade is useful when the tonal qualities between adjacent keygroups are a bit
abrupt (for example, on a strings program where you have several samples multi-sampled
across the keyboard range, keygroup crossfade could be used to smooth the transition
between the multi-samples).
