LOAD
S2000 Operator’s Manual - Version 1.30 Page 31
Here, the screen is informing you that you are about to load a multi called BACK TRACK3. As
usual, use the inner DATA wheel to select the multi you wish to load and press GO to load it.
You will receive the usual CLEAR MEM FIRST? prompt to which you should respond as
appropriate.
NOTE: Whilst it is possible to store several multis on one disk, only one multi can reside in
memory at any one time. If you select a multi and load it and then select another and load it, the
first one loaded will be replaced by the second one.
LOADING ONLY THE PROGRAMS AND THEIR SAMPLES
To load only the programs and samples (and ignore any multis or effects files), press PAGE
DOWN until you see this page:
ALL P+S, of course, is an abbreviation of ALL PROGRAMS AND SAMPLES. Pressing F1 will
start the loading process prompting you with this screen:
As above, you should press CLEAR if you want to clear the memory completely or press LOAD
to add these programs and samples to your existing sounds. As before, the names of the
samples and programs being loaded will be shown.
LOADING INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS AND THEIR SAMPLES
Particularly when you are building a MULTI, you often want to load just a single program and the
samples associated with that program. To do this, press PAGE DOWN until you see this screen
display:
IND P + S is an abbreviation of INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS AND SAMPLES and this selection
allows you to pick a program and load it with its associated samples. The program you wish to
load can be selected using the inner DATA wheel. As you turn this, so you will scroll through
the programs on the floppy disk currently in the disk drive or in the currently selected hard disk
volume. When you have selected the one you want, press GO. As usual, you will receive the
prompt to CLEAR or LOAD. If you are starting from scratch, CLEAR is probably best but, if you
are building up a multi from different programs on different disks/hard disk volumes, you
should press LOAD to add the program to those currently in memory. The selected programs
and the samples associated with it will be loaded.
NOTE: For building multis, this load option is probably the most useful as you can select
which programs you want to use. Of course, you can load the entire volume if you wish but this
will fill the sampler’s memory up unnecessarily and you may find that you then have to keep
selectively deleting programs and samples to make room for other programs you want to load.
LOADING ONLY PROGRAMS
To load only the programs and ignore all samples, multis and effects files, press PAGE DOWN
until you see this screen:
