MULTI MODE
S2000 Operator’s Manual - Version 1.30 Page 59
The selections you can make are:
LOW If the program is set to LOW priority, then notes from this program will be stolen
first.
HIGH If set to HIGH, then notes from other programs with lower priority will be stolen
first before they are stolen from this program.
NORM NORM is, of course, normal priority and sets standard dynamic voice allocation
and note stealing will take place with no particular priority.
HOLD If a program’s priority is set to HOLD, then notes can only be stolen from this
program by the same program.
If you are playing a complex piece of music using many programs in a multi-timbral
configuration, it is a good idea to set important programs to HIGH or HOLD and less important,
background programs to LOW. If the piece of music is not overly complicated and polyphony is
not going to be exceeded, you may prefer just to leave the priority at the default setting of
NORM.
NOTE: In all the screens described above, as well as using the SELECT wheel to select parts,
you may also select the part number by specifically moving the cursor to the PT field shown in
the bottom left of the display and using the data wheel. Both methods are useful. The outer
SELECT wheel is useful where you are setting the same parameter for the different parts
(setting each part’s stereo level for example). In this case, the outer SELECT wheel is useful
for ‘stepping’ to the next part with a quick flick of this control. However, if you wish to maybe
jump from PART 1 to PART 15, because the SELECT wheel takes a little time to get going,
you may prefer to move the cursor to the PT field and whizz through the parts with a quick
rotation of the inner DATA wheel.
